Johnson Home, James Cistern
It
with great joy that we can report that the Johnson family is in their
new home! There are a few windows that Isaac is still saving for, but
being 95% complete feels great he says. Our groups have really enjoyed
working along side of Isaac and his family as we partnered with the Bahamian
Government to build a home for this wonderful family.
A true community effort has
brought this fire ravaged house back to become a home. We are very thankful for
all the volunteers that contributed with their hands and with their
funds. Seeing this project to completion is a priority of BMH.

Mackey Home, Gregory
Town
Working
in Gregory Town this year has been an uphill battle but we are very
close to the top! Things are really
coming together and with three different
construction groups coming within the next
month we will be completing the home by December 15th. Please pray
that our funding, materials, volunteers, and the stars align over
Gregory Town so that we can get the Mackey family in their new home for
Christmas. If you would like to aid in the funding of the appliances for
the family or with the finishing materials please email Abraham for more
information.
Hatchet Bay Community
Center, Hatchet Bay

Connections make
the world go around and the Hatchet Bay Community Center is an amazing
example of different groups coming together for the
common good of the community and world. Volunteers came from as far as
Texas and as near as across the street. We are very excited to see where
all these relationships lead to. Future plans include after school
programming, local gatherings, leadership development classes, as well
as church functions and most importantly a safe place for the children
of Hatchet Bay to come play and grow. We are still in need of Volunteers
and Finances to complete this project, please email Abraham to assist in
this very worthwhile project.

mission teams and provides Conference Facilities for the Bahamas
Conference of the Methodist Church as well as other local ministries and
organizations. Camp Symonette will be finished with its much needed
"facelift" this Spring. The dining room, kitchen and bathroom
facilities will have a brand new look.

See the

The Mackey Home, Gregory Town

The Mackey family of 5 lost
their home in Hurricane Frances. Methodist Habitat broke ground on
this three bedroom home in July. The home is about 75% finished and is
looking great. Thank you to all that have worked on the home.
The Johnson
Home, James Cistern
Mrs.
Sylvia Johnson has recently been able to move into her 765 square foot

a stroke victim saved money from her minimal pension to assist with the
purchase of materials.

Central Andros ________________________________________________________
Camp Makepeace
Camp Makepeace is
located in Central Andros, the largest island in the Bahamas. The site is a five-acre beach and creek
front property
that has a church and mission center onsite. This site is currently
available to house teams.
Camp Makepeace
may be used as a
retreat and mission center for Methodist Habitat work on Andros.
Mastic Point
The Mission Centre in Mastic Point is a 1,500 square feet
manse/parsonage that will house mission teams and other church groups.
Construction teams with various skills are needed to complete the
center. After the site is complete work teams will begin to work on
homes in the surrounding communities of North Andros.
The Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church has three churches on the
Island of Andros. Two in the Central (Staniard and Stafford Creeks) and
one in the North (Mastic point).
Teams volunteering on Andros will fly into North Andros-San Andros (SAQ)
or Central Andros-Andros Town (ASD). Larger groups may find that it is
more economical to charter a plane. WesternAir has agreed to give
teams associated with Methodist Habitat a 15% discount on travel. Contact
Methodist Habitat for details. There is also a ferryboat that travels from
Nassau to Andros on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Bahamian Social Services and is need of a loving Christian couple to
help run the home. If you or anyone you know would be interested please
contact Abraham McIntyre ASAP. There are also Construction projects on
the island that need attention as well.
